Memory Enhancement Designer Albums

Brides today are looking for something new to reflect who they are, show off that wedding day and enhance their memories for years to come!!

Photographers are looking for a way to lessen the load in the workroom and get back to shooting.

H.S. Photo is looking for partners in the creative field of album design - meaning you the photographer.

Now that it is clear what we all want, let’s analyze how to get there.

The type of person your bride is will probably determine the photographer she chooses to help her record one of the greatest days of her life. How you shoot can help you guide her in what style of album to choose.

The more images a bride and groom purchase, the more sides will be needed to hold those images or the more images per side.

The following is a brief explanation of the styles. These are meant as a guideline and not a rule.

To start a slide show, click on the image. To stop a slide show, click Esc.

“Simple and Elegant” – The style is fewer images making a large statement.

1 to 3 images appear on a side. Panorama layouts or 2 page spreads are used to add largeness to the special effects. Effects are used to add focus and wow the viewer. Most of the layouts are full bleed with little if any negative space visible.

“Scrapbook Style” – Just as the name indicates, this style includes more images. 4 to 8 images can appear on a side. Panorama layouts are used but usually in a storybook feel to layout all of the ceremony, dancing or partying shots. Not as many special effects are used because the layouts can appear too busy. Most of the layouts are full bleed but some negative space can appear.

“Contemporary” – This style is about geometric design. There are no bleed borders. All images are contained in a frame or key line. Negative space is an important element of this style. White on black, black on white, as well as digital art paper backgrounds can be used. A few special effects may be used to add softness to the subject. One or more images appear on a side.

Most photographers choose either the “Simple and Elegant” or “Contemporary” style. A few “Scrapbook” style layouts are added to tell the story. This also allows the bride to pick more images than she would have with a traditional album. She sees this as a plus and makes a good selling point.

A consultation is a good idea after you have seen the slide shows. This will enable you to clarify your ideas before sitting down to pick the images for the album.
